Signs Keep ‘Stupid’ in the Gene pool
For years and years, signs have been interfering with the natural selection process. They are everywhere warning stupid people of impending dangers. And. because of these signs, more stupid people are surviving. reproducing more stupid people. As a result, stupid is not being weeded out of our gene pool. As a result, stupid will always be a part of our gene pool. some of these signs save lives while telling us we‘re stupid, bit others just plain tell us we’re stupid. I just can’t figure out if it’s the stupid people these signs were designed for, or if it’s the stupid people who designed these signs. Either way, the following is a brief sample of what I’m talking about:
Take, for example, those signs on the fences at electric power plants stating, ‘KEEP OUT‘. Yea, whenever I walk by a place like that and I hear the loud humming, smell ozone, feel my hairs stand on end and feel the ground vibrating beneath my feet, I get this unexplainable urge to climb the fence and the electrical equipment (on the other side) like a jungle-gym. Thank God for those signs! No, not really. I’m not that dumb. My senses tell me, ‘KEEP OUT.’ I don’t need a sign. And if a person is dumb enough to go into a place like that, then he or she should fry, hastening the removal of unwanted ‘stupid’ genes from the human gene pool.
What about railroad crossing signs. Aren’t train tracks crossing the road a pretty good indicator that a train might cross here? Come on, how many people, upon seeing a railroad crossing, actually look up expecting to see an airplane go bye? I’m glad there’s a sign. Someone might get hit by a train while looking up for a plane.
‘Stupid’ genes in the gene pool must have been the reason why it became necessary to put up exit signs in places where the way out is extremely obvious. Here’s a possible scenario: One day. many years ago, a guy (Mr. Stupid) was leaving the doctors office. Instead of walking toward the clear glass door leading to the outside, he opened the ladies room door, giving poor old Mrs. Peabody (who was sitting there doing a crossword puzzle) a heart attack. When confronted by authorities, Mr. Stupid stated, as he scratched his forehead, “I got confused. Since there’s no exit sign over the door, I didn’t know the ladies room wasn’t the way out.” Nobody could be that stupid right? Wrong!
If we are that stupid, how do you explain the credit they give us by putting up signs that state, ‘slow children at play’. I saw a guy driving by my house. He rolled down his window and yelled, “You kids need to speed up if you don’t get hit!” I think this example of stupid is self explanatory. There are other ways that we’re given too much credit. Look at places where there should be a sign, but none exist.
Another sign I’ve seen recently is the little sticker on my new food processor that states, ‘DO NOT INSERT FINGERS WHILE OPERATING!’ And, I almost did! I saw the sticker just in time! Please! I’m not that stupid, bit sp,epme pit tjere is. I guarantee it.
