appears once again that the red cross is unable to deliver on it's most basic promise. When are people going to wake up and see that the organizations administration is less than optimum? I realize that many of the organizations administration is perfectly able to accomplish what they set out to do, but the actual leadership is lacking since an effective chain of command doesn't seem to exist. First question: Who is in charge? This person should have the ability to communicat to all of it's state leadership at one time. This "leader" should also have the ability to make public addresses just as the president does, to inform the people about what is going on. Inform the people, as well as it's own subordinate entities of instruction so everyone is on the same sheet of music. I can't see how the red cross says a billion dollars won't be enough to help the effected. If they would do away with some of the waste, and hold themselves more accountable as to the spending, and provide complete disclosure of their books, they'll probably save 100 million. Here is my rundown of what the Red Cross should be spending money on. Feel free to add to the list if I for get anything. Click on the comment link below and leave your suggestions. I'll add them later.1. Electric bills of shelters2. Transportation of donated items when necessary3. Food for victims4. Stoves, Refrigerators, Freezers, Coffee makers, ect.5. Clothing6. Child care goods: diapers, bottles, formula, food, toys ect7. Medical Supplies8. Warehouse purchases throughout the USA in centralized distributions points.Of these Items, what should the Red Cross Have stock piled in warehouses? The Red Cross Has adequate funding to have the majority of items stock piled in huge quantities. If they do not have these items stock piled in centralized locations throughout the USA, what are they doing. In addition to the above items, they should have plenty of:Generators, communication equipement, tents, cots, water tank trailors (water buffalos), 5 gallon Canvass water dispensers, 5 gallon water jugs, tarp kits, and personell to provide leadership, command and control, care, reassurance. The leadership should coordinate withNational guard setting up frequencies, and an organized call sign identification system. The Active military as well as FEMA should then (upon being mobilized in the event of a national emetrgency) request call sign/frequency info from the National guard. Tje red cross should have a signal officer in charge of this function.Since much of the items listed above should already have been on hand, much of the donated money raised should be utilized to subsidize any current needs and replentish supplies. FEMA needs help too. They need a leader who will act in the same capacity as the leader of the Red Cross. These two people should be coordinating between each other all efforts. Politics must not enter into any association with either entity. That is, neither should be functioning simply as a ploy to advance or diminish the character of anyh political party by selecting who they will or will not help. Everyone these organizations assist should be assisted with the same amount of resources, relatively speaking. In other words, blacks and whites should be afforded the same quality, and swiftness of response.
