On October 31, 2007, While walking in a predominantly white neighborhood visiting friends, Malcolm Shaw, brother of Theo Shaw (One of the notorious Jena 6) and his white friend, Richie Norris, Were approached by a man driving a dark color Toyota pickup in west Monroe, Louisiana (a city located about 40 miles north of Jena, Louisiana).
The driver, extending his arm from the cab of the truck, was holding something between his fingers. Then, as he drove by the boys, he conspicuously dropped it at their feet. It was a KKK business card.
Both Shaw and Norris said the driver who dropped the card was a white man in his mid to late 20’s.
Visibly shaken, Shaw considered this action to be a warning and a threat telling him he was in the wrong neighborhood. When asked if he’d like to report the incident to the police, he declined noting his belief that nothing would come of it.
The card announces the “Bayou Knights of the Ku Kux Klan”
