The National Federation of the Blind will be holding a Convention at the Monroe, Louisiana Holiday Inn Atrium on March 27, 28, 29 and 30. Meetings on Thursday the 27th are for parents and educators of the visually impaired.
The registration fee is $20.00 and covers Friday’s evening meal, Saturday’s continental breakfast and lunch, and Sunday’s continental breakfast.
Saturday afternoon, convention participants can see an original play performed by Louisiana Center of the Blind members. This troop consists of mainly college aged young adults who’ve been working diligently to create a memorable performance.
There will be a Saturday evening Banquet requiring an additional $20.00. National representative Ron Brown will be speaking and scholarships will be awarded.
Norma Crosby, the Ruston NFB president wishes to invite anyone who is interested in blind advocacy to come and join us for a wonderful time.
This will be the first NFB convention I’ve ever attended, and all I can say right now is I hope the food is good.
