Letter to Veterans and Wounded Warriors

<-- Me in my Hummvee like 20 years ago! (pardon my spelling)

I was a signal soldier during the first gulf war, so let me say my spirit is soldiering on. I feel like you guys and gals serving today are my brothers and sisters.

I know what its like to put up camouflage and haul TA-50 around. I know what it’s like to do a PMCS. I even know what it’s like to burn up and freeze my butt off in the desert.

What I don’t know is what it’s like to be wounded, or what it’s like to watch my buddy get killed.

Let me say, when I hear horrific stories, my heart goes out to you. It breaks my heart to know my brothers and sisters are suffering. That said, I also feel immense pride when I see my wounded brothers and sisters overcoming unthinkable adversity.

If you are a veteran, or a current soldier, I want you to know that I am certainly thankful for your service.

Hang on tightly to your faith, and know you are wonderful examples of what it means to be Americans.
