PLEASE SIGN MY GUESTBOOK OIL SLICK; What a Tragedy
I am saddened by the disaster that’s unfolding before my eyes. I think the toughest part of this disaster will be the inability of large numbers of people to help.
Although the scope of this disaster is far reaching, we must remember the immediately effected.
To that end, the least of our concerns should be the prices of shrimp and oysters. In the forefront of our concern should be the fishermen in the area and the ecology of the effected area.
Tonight on the TV news, I saw a company that had microbes that eat oil, the byproducts of is water and CO2. Lets gat them microbes down there.
I Say get large ships that have huge watertight cargo-holds. Draw contaminated waters in from the high-point in the cargo-hold, and pump clean filtered water out through a lower duct. Oil floats on top of the water, so pumping ‘out’ from the bottom of the cargo hold seems like it would be the thing to do. Once the oil concentration in the cargo-hold becomes high, a sensor could close the valve. Remove that ship and bring in another. They have those machines that pump sand into cargo-holds of large ships, why not water?
We’ve got to keep the Gulf Coast and its inhabitants in our prayers. This is a devastating situation that will take years to overcome.
I pray that all the after-spilled-milk-crying-and-finger-pointing doesn’t undermine our free market system anymore than our current presidential administration has.
I do not like Harry or Nancy, and I don’t like the policies of our current President. He’s turning our constitution into Swiss cheese. Use the comment link below to add your comments.
